At AFS, we define Intercultural Learning as a study and application of knowledge about different cultures, their differences and similarities. And we define Global Citizen is someone who is aware of and understands the wider world – and their place in it. They take an active role in their community and work with others to create a more just and peaceful world.
The AFS Youth Empowerment Project will start with an event where students will learn basic intercultural knowledge, followed by programs and competitions to build personal values and skills, then move on to exchange programs to practice their interpersonal relations building skills in new cultures, to raise their intercultural sensitivity, enhance their global issues awareness and equip themselves with a positive outlook on life and a commitment to society.
