Deep Connection of Two Families

【Host family, Mrs. Cheung】 I am a full-time housewife, and I take care of daily life and food for my family. Blanche likes the food I cook. Dinner was the most precious time for us to get together. We did not only enjoy tasty food, but also share the big and trivial things of the day. We felt comfortable with each other no matter we were happy or not. I believe maintaining a good communication is a key to remaining a host family until the end.

Blanche’s arrival also helped enhance our family bonding. As a host family, we planned different activities and brought Blanche to different places. We have visited more than 40 places in a year, such as hiking on different mountains, Shek O Beach, Tai O, Macau and Shenzhen, etc. All these trips gave us unforgettable memories.

Due to cultural differences, it was inevitable that small arguments occurred in family. We communicated and discussed to resolve the arguments. We would like to express our gratitude to Blanche’s parents for their trust. No matter what happened, her parents would respect our decisions. Their trust granted us flexibility to guide Blanche on her personal growth. This host family experience did not only benefit me, but also helped my daughter to grow. Blanche and Anna lived together, they were a mirror of each other. They could better understand their own personality and temperament from each other. Most importantly, they could learn how to be true to themselves. I believe that both Blanche and Anna had fruitful lessons during this period.

I hope they will work hard towards clear goals and live a better version of themselves. We will keep in touch and see each other in the future.
